When inspecting the front steering components of your Corvette, here are some key areas to pay attention to:

  1. Steering linkage: Check the condition of the steering linkage components, including the tie rod ends, center link, and idler arm. Look for signs of wear, such as excessive play or looseness, damaged rubber boots, or worn-out ball joints. Ensure that the linkage is properly greased and free of any corrosion.
  2. Steering box: Inspect the steering box for leaks or excessive play. Look for any signs of fluid leakage around the seals and fittings. Check the steering box mounting bolts for tightness.
  3. Pitman arm: Examine the pitman arm for any signs of wear or damage. It should be securely attached and not have any excessive play.
  4. When installing a Moog idler arm, do not use the felt pad if it is provided in your kit.
